Cinco De Mayo running. I needed it too, after the Cinco De Mayo potluck at work today and Cinco De Mayo party MB and I went to yesterday (heyyyyy…..).
We’re now on Week 7 - whew!! Our intervals are 4/1, seven times, this week and it felt really damn good tonight. I’m a little disappointed in our numbers, because I thought for sure we were kicking butt, but it felt so good to add that extra minute in, that it shouldn’t be difficult later this week to edge that time back off our totals. We’ll see how things are by the end of the week. Time will tell.

At some point, for my partner’s edification, I should break down all the number business. Just…. not tonight. I need a shower and need to hit bed. Trying to get some extra rest this week so that I can kick the very last of this cold. I’m hoping it will be completely gone by the one month mark of its onset (that’d be next Monday).

And huh. It just hit me. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t mess with the program again and have us run 8 intervals for the next two training days this week and 9 intervals next week. Our pace is good, and we’re hitting all the intervals, but our training time and distance is still almost a mile off of the 5K mark. Even our total time is kind of short. I’m thinking I might need to make the executive decision to bump things up a little bit.
We’ll see.
