Hi New Readers!
There is a Notify List where you may sign up to receive an email when I update this site. (Which isn’t often, these days, admittedly.)
*******
So, I’m back under 300 again. Whoop.
This morning, I weighed 296. I’m still dropping the weight I “gained” over the holidays. It’s not coming off as fast as it was at the beginning of the month when I lost 11 pounds in six days, but it’s still coming off, thankfully. Because of that crazy weight flucuation on the 1st, I have now lost 18 pounds this month.
And again, even though it’s not true to life, it’s still pretty fun to see that on the scale and on the calendar where I track my numbers.
I’m just trying to ride the high of that losing streak to keep myself motivated and on track as much as possible. I have this goal to get under 200 by the end of the year and while it’s doable, I will also be under a little bit of pressure to achieve it. So, the most I can lose “easily” in this first month, than the less I have to lose throughout the rest of the year.
Currently, I have 97 more pounds to lose to get me under 200. If I weren’t to lose anymore weight in January (please say that isn’t so, with another 12 days to go!) then I would only need to lose 8.8 pounds per month for the rest of the year. That’s definitely doable.
Of course, It’s going to be 8.something for the rest of the year anyway. Unless I lose another 10 pounds in 12 days (probably not possible - though I’ll try my ass off).
That will put me 30 pounds away from my goal weight, as I currently have it set. I still believe that I need to wait and see what my body’s going to do and whether 169 is a good goal weight for me or not. 30 pounds left in January of 2008 means that I’d only need to lose a little over six pounds a month in order to hit my goal weight by my third wedding anniversary. At which time I can reorder my dress and have that big ole party I’m dreaming about.
Totally doable and the type of goals I need to keep in mind. I’m finding that a good balance of long-term and short-term goals is what is helping me to regain my motivation and the flow.

I am sure it is the running that is helping get things back to where they need to be. I’m still training for that 10K in March, but week four of the program I’m using was too much for me. I was pushing myself way too hard and ended up pooping out at the end of last week and took three days off.
Since I have the extra weeks to play with anyway, I decided to step it back a week and this week’s training has gone much better. I’m doing 30 minutes of alternating four minutes running with 1 minute walking. I did that on Monday and Wednesday and did a relaxing 2 mile run with one of the other dance moms on Tuesday. Took yesterday off and tonight is another training day.
Race day is March 25, with a four mile race in February. It’s on February 10 (which is Valentine’s day weekend, and the day of a Pub Crawl here in Folsom - heh!), so I told Jesse to start training for four miles and he and I could do the race together for Valentine’s Day. He started running again last night.
(I will be a designated driver at the Pub Crawl. 46 days without a drink so far. The real test will be our poker night next weekend. I am not worried, but am not trying to get too cocky either.)

That’s about all I’ve got for right now. I’ll try to update again sooner than later. Happy Friday! Have a great weekend, everyone.
